2013 BooksCollapse )

Films I want to watch 100 this year but that includes films I've seen before. I want to watch at least 50 new (to me) films. The bold numbers are the new films

My list of books I have read in 2012. The aim is 50 books by the end of the year.
There's definitely a nostalgia theme this year. I've been reading lots of books I loved when I was younger, partly so I can pack them away at the back of a cupboard for a while.

ACTA in a Nutshell –

What is ACTA?  ACTA is the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement. A new intellectual property enforcement treaty being negotiated by the United States, the European Community, Switzerland, and Japan, with Australia, the Republic of Korea, New Zealand, Mexico, Jordan, Morocco, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and Canada recently announcing that they will join in as well.

Why should you care about ACTA? Initial reports indicate that the treaty will have a very broad scope and will involve new tools targeting “Internet distribution and information technology.”

What is the goal of ACTA? Reportedly the goal is to create new legal standards of intellectual property enforcement, as well as increased international cooperation, an example of which would be an increase in information sharing between signatory countries’ law enforcement agencies.

Essential ACTA Resources

  • Read more about ACTA here: ACTA Fact Sheet
  • Read the authentic version of the ACTA text as of 15 April 2011, as finalized by participating countries here: ACTA Finalized Text
  • Follow the history of the treaty’s formation here: ACTA history
  • Read letters from U.S. Senator Ron Wyden wherein he challenges the constitutionality of ACTA: Letter 1 | Letter 2 | Read the Administration’s Response to Wyden’s First Letter here: Response
  • Watch a short informative video on ACTA: ACTA Video
  • Watch a lulzy video on ACTA: Lulzy Video

Say NO to ACTA. It is essential to spread awareness and get the word out on ACTA.

Right, now that all my 2010 posts are done I can get on with 2011.

No emphasis on number with books this year as I am reading Les Misérables and may be for the rest of the year.

Films I want to watch 100 this year but that includes films I've seen before. The last two years there has been too much emphasis on watching new things and it has made me feel a bit guilty for watching films that I've seen before and I love.

So after the complete failure of last years 50 Books I have decided to try again.
Anyone interested I made it to 21 books last year. Must do better!
I will try and get some fancy graphics up here sometime in the year.

50 BooksCollapse )

I'm going to include films in this post too. Last year I managed to see exactly 50 new films and I plan to do the same thing this year.

Doing this because I can't really think of another place to upload words. Here temporarily.

Pretty sure some of this changed a little for the actual concert

I have just realised why Russell Tovey has always been so familiar. Something in the back of my mind telling me I had seen him before, that kind of thing.

He was in Spywatch! In lower school we used to watch it on one of the Look and Read shows. Russell was the geeky one in glasses and cuddly tank top jumpers. Brilliant!
I love the fact that our lessons were that awesome!
Found some pictures on the Spywatch game.
Still can't believe it. It was our favourite Look and Read and they still show it sometimes.

That is actually brilliant! =]

Right I am off to bed. Night
